“As Ramadan came to an end, with soaring prices, no cash, and children waiting for new clothes, I wrote this satirical song to express our reality. No money, no resources, no clear hope… yet we try to sing and resist!
“I’m Fed Up” isn’t just lyrics; it’s a voice that echoes the struggles of everyone going through these hard times. When Eid becomes a burden instead of a joy, when life turns into a daily battle for the most basic needs.
Maybe it will express what’s in your heart as much as it did in mine!”
– Ahmed “Muin” Abu Amsha
lyrics
I’m fed up,
I’m worn out,
And Ramadan is almost gone.
How we live in Gaza
Just two more days til Eid,
And my kids need clothes to put on.
No cash in sight
Life’s a fight,
Nothing feels right,
Hope is withdrawn.
I’m fed up,
I’m worn out,
And Ramadan is almost gone.
The war has drained our very soul,
Our strength is fading fast.
Tents stretch as far as the eyes can see.
The heat burns unsurpassed.
I’m fed up,
I’m worn out,
And Ramadan is almost gone.
I walked to the store to buy some food,
There’s nothing left to find.
The border’s shut,
It’s been so long.
I crave a smoke,
But there’s no way.
No cigarettes,
No time to stay.
I’m fed up.
